I've said before that I don't like to give star ratings, but this is a rare, 5-star exception. This is my favorite poetry collection. These are my favorite poems. This is the book that made me want to start annotating books. I come back to it constantly, and I bet you will, too, if you give it a read. Franny Choi is a mad scientist who will make you question your relationship with your body and its relationship with the world it inhabits while deconstructing and, subsequently, reconstructing both. At the same time, she breaks the concept of poetry down to its fundamentals and rebuilds it using her own rules, Frankenstein-ing this book together and giving it what feels like real, breathing life.

I love what Choi has to say, and I love the way she says it. What more can you ask for in a poem?
