Not Norman

a Goldfish Story
Feb 07, 2006GingerKaren rated this title 5 out of 5 stars
When a young boy receives Norman, a fish, for his birthday, he is disappointed. This is not the pet he has envisioned. He wants a pet that can fetch a stick, or play with him. Norman just sits in his bowl and blows bubbles. The boy threatens to take him back to the pet store and trade him in for a good pet. When the boy takes his fish to Show and Tell, he realizes that even though Norman is a quiet pet, he is still not the pet he really wants. How will Norman win him over? The illustrations convey the feelings of boy and fish with perfect humor. I loved this book!
