I really did enjoy this final installment in the starbound trilogy, but nowhere as much as the first two books, as there were several things that I really didn't like. The story just didn't capture my heart the way I was really was hoping it would've. I also felt that there was a lot less character development between Sofia and Gideon. Even though at times I felt that they lacked personality, I did still like reading about them. When Gideon was introduced, I immediately fell in love with him, but Sofia I never really liked, and I felt it was an effort to get through some of the chapters that were told from her perspective. The series did end in a good way though, and I felt that things were over and I was okay with it all. After it was over though, I felt like I should want more of the characters, but because each book is about different people, I just wasn't as attached to the characters. Also, sometimes when things were supposed to be heated, and the book was nearing the end, the story felt bland, and I kind of wished that things would hurry up. There was at least seventy-five pages where it felt like nothing was happening, and the scene was supposed to be suspenseful but it was actually really dry. So with all of that, I really didn't like this book as much as I was hoping I would and it is probably my least favorite of the whole trilogy, which kind of sucks, because this is the last book, and my last impression of the characters.
