Who said picture books are just for little kids? I learned from this book that Dorothy Johnson Vaughan, who taught herself FORTRAN and became NASA's first African-American supervisor, was born in Kansas City, Missouri. Hand this book to kids looking for a local, inspirational heroine, or anyone interested in space exploration.
