This is the 2nd book in the Murphy Shepherd series. You definitely need to read book 1 before this one. He jumps right in where the other one left off. It took me a bit to remember who everyone was and what had happened to each of them. This book is a bit more philosophical and introspective than the first one. We get Murphy’s background story and get a look at the emotional/mental healing process of the girls in Freetown. The action doesn’t pick up until the last half of the book and it ends with a good setup for book #3.
