Spotlight Genre: Black Speculative Fiction

Black speculative fiction encompasses both fantasy and science-fiction genres, where in which Black characters are at the center of the story, usually in fantastical worlds dissimilar to our own. Even so, these stories are typically used as social commentary on contemporary society, the plights and successes of Black people, and to further progressive social change.
