In 1844 Ireland, Liam O'Connor, a rogue and a thief, fell madly in love with Cora McLeod and unwittingly altered the future. Shy and naive Cora thought Liam was the answer to her prayers. The angels disagreed. In the present day, Liam finds himself in Providence Falls, North Carolina, with the task of making sure Cora falls in love with another man. But this Cora is an independent, confident cop. She doesn't remember Liam or their past lives, nor does she welcome his guidance.
